Target: 70% off Toy Clearance

It is time once again for Target’s semi-annual toy clearance sale.

This will vary from store to store but if you are interested in this sale, now is the time to start checking things out!  As you can see from my photo above there were tons of clearance tags on every aisle at my store.

Typically in July Target moves out a lot of toys to make room for new stuff.

They have a similar sale in January but that is also the time people are in stores a lot to return holiday gifts and bargain shop- so I usually find better deals in July.

Each store will vary as to when they mark things down.  My store is all over the place with things at 30% off and lots of things at 50% off and I spotted a handful of toys at 70% off.  They should all go to 70% off eventually but obviously the more popular items like Legos probably won’t make it to 70% off.

According to the Target clearance schedule- the toy department usually goes on sale on Wednesdays. So that is likely the best day to shop for new discounts- or perhaps Thursday if your store doesn’t get them all done.

So keep an eye out when you shop, remember to double check things with the scanner and please come back and report back what you find!

I am thinking most stores will be at 50% off right now and possibly get marked down to 70% off on the 23rd or 30th.

The Best Coupon Sites to Help You Save

I used to think the Sunday paper was our only option to clipping coupons and saving money. Oh my, has that changed!

Technology has made it possible for us to get coupons by email, phone, and reward cards. Weekly ads are now completely online as well, including future circulars!

It’s definitely more convenient, not to mention less paper waste. And if I still want to print a bunch of coupons, I have the option to only print ones I’m actually going to use. What’s not to love?

The following links are a compilation of best coupon sites I’ve found, and many of them have become my absolute favorites. Get your bookmark tool ready, ’cause we’re about to save a bunch!

1. Printable coupons

I try to check at least one or two of these sites before each and every grocery shopping trip. You may notice that many carry the same kinds of coupons, but use that to your advantage and print off more than one.

• Coupons.com - Has the best collection of coupons to print, plus an option to save coupons to participating loyalty cards. Check back, and check often…new items are added each week!

• Redplum - A different set of coupons, can change based on location.

• SmartSource - Yet another set of coupons, changes on location, and has the option to send coupons to a Cellfire account. <– See below

• Betty Crocker - Clip coupons from the front page, and sign up for the newsletter to receive exclusive offers and yummy recipes.

• Staples - Offers FREE after rebate coupons, percent offs, and dollar amounts off a specific purchase price. {Ex. $5 off $30}

• Target - Store coupons that can be combined with manufacturer’s coupons for maximum savings, or, if you live in the South, they can be used at Publix. {If considered a competitor}

I would also look for your favorite companies and brands on Facebook. Most of the time, they will offer a high value coupon in exchange for a “like”.

2. E-Coupons

With e-coupons, you can download apps onto your smart phone and use it right in the checkout lane. No more worries about losing paper coupons…..ahem.

General e-coupons:

• Cellfire - Save coupons to participating loyalty cards, or download the Cellfire app to scan at the checkout register. Savings will come off immediately.

• Saving Star - Send e-coupons to participating loyalty cards, then scan at the register. Receipt total will not change, but savings will be sent via Paypal, bank deposit, or Amazon gift card within the month.

Craft store apps with coupons: 

• Michaels | Joanns | Download the app and show coupon to cashier when checking out. 

Even though your store may not be listed here, they still may have an app or coupon program available. I would definitely check before you shop. 

3. Coupon codes

I never buy anything online without first typing the website into a coupon code database. Even if I can’t find any promo or coupon codes listed, I’ll often do a Google search just to make sure I’m not missing anything!

• Retailmenot - Includes daily top coupon codes, plus free shipping and printable coupons. 

• Coupon Mountain - Search for coupon codes or download the browser extension for Chrome. Best codes will automatically be applied at checkout.

• CouponCodes.com – All coupon codes on the site are hand-verified, meaning you shouldn’t get stuck with a code that doesn’t work.

• FreeShipping.org - A one stop shop for all FREE shipping offers.
