A Boy called Christmas is a great new Christmas story that I will likely read to my kids year after year. It is extremely heratwarming and tells the true meaning of Christmas. A boy that will be cherished for generations to come. I highly recommend it. It can be read anytime of year. The book has a wonderful message of hope and love. I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for my honest review from Blogging for Books.

I received a copy of Skinnytaste Fast and Slow and was so excited because I have this authors first cookbook and love it. This one did not disappoint. There are so many healthy and convenient recipes to make in this book that it is hard to pick only one to get started with. Everything looks delicious and even my picky kids would like most of the items in this cookbook. It is a sure win. I highly recommend getting yourself a copy. Martha Stewarts Vegetables Review

I was excited to receive a copy of Martha Stewarts Vegetables. I love finding new ways to cook with vegetables so that my kids will eat them. This book is packed with healthy recipes for main dishes and sides. The book is broken into chapters based on Vegetables so if you have a certain vegetable to use up you can simply flip to that section and find a recipe for it. The only disappointment I found were that a lot of the dishes contained a pasta or starch and wasn't simply just vegetable dishes. Many of the recipes didn't look very kid friendly but I am excited to try them out anyway. Some of the recipes I am most excited to try are the Watercress and Asparagus Pizza, Spiced Parsnip Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting, and the Sesame Carrot Slaw. Overall I think this is a cookbook that is worthy of a position in your collection. There are other more comprehensive vegetable cookbooks out thee, but Martha's style makes up for that in this book. I received a copy of this cookbook for free in exchange for my honest review from Blogging for Books.

I was so very excited to get a copy of Against All Grain Celebrations and it did not disappoint! I have all of Danielle Walkers other books and love them! This one does not disappoint. This cookbook has thick pages and beautiful colorful photos of each recipe. Everything looks mouthwatering and delicious and I can't wait to try all of the recipes. The book is broken into 12 chapters, each depicting a different holiday or season. An entire chapter devoted to Christmas delicacies and Halloween treats including some really fun party ideas are included along with Easter, Mother's Day, Fathers , Day, Birthday Parties and more. I can't wait to get entertaining with this book! For those concerned that grain free recipes aren't for them, there are tons of recipes for meats and side dishes that don't include almond flour or coconut flour. Personally I am not a huge fan of baked goods made with those items. This book is for everyone, not just those on special diets. Some of my favorite recipes include, the spinach artichoke dip, , try tip with grilled vegetables and chimichurri sauce and the garlic rosemary rib roast. Get this book. It's a great addition to anyones cookbook collection! I received a free copy of this book from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review.

I ordered a copy of this book as I am very interested in learning more about how girls interact as I have daughters myself. This book talked about some very important facts, but the overall tone of this book was quite negative. I felt like this book did a lot of explaining how and why girls are mean and unkind, but didn't do a lot to explain how to cope or fix the problem. Overall, I didn't find this book to be a very valuable resource in helping the problem, but one that shows what you need to look out for. The advise it does include should be taken with a grain of salt.  It is very long and hard to get through. I received a copy of this book for free from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review.

I received a copy of the cookbook Pure Delicious and was excited to crack it open and see what was inside. The book itself is beautiful with colorful photographs and thick pages. The recipes it contains are all allergy free and use no Gluten, Dairy, Eggs, Soy, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Shellfish or Cane Sugar. With that said, all of the recipes are quite unusual and ones that my picky kids probably won't touch. I found myself not really able to find too many recipes that I would actually want to make. This was disappointing as I had such high hoes for this cookbook Overall, if you have a family member with severe allergies, this might provide some different and unusual recipes, but if you are like me and have kids who are picky eaters, there might now be too much in here that is worth making. I received a copy of the cookbook for free from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest  review. All opinions are my own.

Our family loves playing games, so when I got a chance to review Punderdome, I was very excited to try it out. The game itself plays a lot like Cards Against Humanity, but without the R rating. It was fun and unlike Cards Against Humanity, this game can be played as a family.  The game played a lot like Apples to Apples and everybody plays because you take turns reading the sample pun on each card. Whoever guesses that gets a few extra seconds when the actual play begins. Each round you get an action (Singing, Laughing, Hiding etc) card and an object card (Presidents, Pizza, Careers etc). The specific objects range nicely from THE WIZARD OF OZ to Harry Potter, Celine Dion to Sherlock Holmes). Your job is to plug them together with a pun. I.E. Commuting + Musicals could be: "Beauty and the Bus" or "Gentlemen Prefer Bike Lanes".  It was a lot of fun once everyone understood the rules and got into the game. Some of the puns were really hard though and that took away from the game a little since we had to keep starting over. Otherwise this game is a worthy addition to anyones game closet and a game that should get a lot of play. I received a copy of this game from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review.

I was so excited to receive a copy of I Almost  Forgot About you by Terry McMillan. I love Terry McMillan's books and have read most of them. This one was no exception. I loved this book. It was a great read and one that I couldn't put down. There was a few slower parts, but I powered right through them. This is a book all about reinventing yourself, and one that every can relate to.  The main character goes through many changes and transformations and you can really feel her pain over many of these things. The book felt real and engaging and I highly recommend picking up a copy for yourself. I received a copy of the Naked cookbook and was excited to see what it offered. I love finding new healthy recipes to feed my family. Unfortunately the recipes that I found usable were few and far between. The cookbook was very bland and plain looking. Photo's were few and far between and didn't make the food look very appealing. The recipe called for lots of hard to find ingredients and looked very time consuming. Overall I think this would be a good cookbook for an experienced chef who loves making things that you have never made or tried before and doesn't have children to feed. It is definitely a unique add to my bookshelf, but not one that I see myself returning to again and again. I received a copy of the book Plated and was thrilled to page through it. You might have heard of Plated which was a cooking kit delivery service. The recipes in this book offer many of there very popular menu items to cook at home without subscription fees! I loved everything about this book. The recipes were straightforward and easy even though they seemed complicated in taste. I loved the first few recipes which included, dressings, marinades and sauces. Recipes liked baked penne, sirloin steak with panzanella salad, pesto grilled chicken kabobs with ricotta pea salad and entire dinner menus make this cookbook a winner. Everything is healthy and freshly prepared. The ingredients were not hard to find. The only thing I would have liked to see more of was the desserts. There is a very small dessert section, but everything in it looks absolutely delicious. This is a cookbook that I can see myself coming back to again and again. I highly recommend checking it out. I received a copy of Food with Friends and was excited to check it out. Paging through the book was a nice experience. Lots of colorful photographs and thick pages. The recipes however were a lot different than what I expected them to be. They seem rather complicated and there were lots of hard to find ingredients used. Take for example, the Purple Cauliflower Hummus. It requires purple cauliflower which I have not been able to find anywhere. Same with the Orange Blossom Hagelslag on Toast. It needed Orange Blossom water. A lot of the recipes seemed rather unappealing although they used lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. There were a few items that I would consider making like the Lemon Strawberry Tart and the Blueberry Galette with Mascarpone & Oat Crust but overall I didn't see too many recipes that really appealed to me. Unfortunately I think this is a cookbook that is nice to look at but would most likely remain on the shelf most of the time. You might however feel differently. Make sure to preview a copy and check out the types of recipes this book offers before buying. I received a copy of this cookbook for free from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review. I received a copy of the Mailbu Farm Cookbook and loved the thick pages and the substantial feel of this cookbook. Malibu is one of my favorite places to visit, so I was excited to see what this cookbook had in store. I was most certainly not disappointed! There are so many healthy and flavorful recipes, all of which use fresh fruits and vegetables. Most ingredients are easy to find which is always a bonus. Some of my favorite recipes are the Multigrain Yogurt Pancakes, Goat Cheese Potato Pizza Tartlet with Mushrooms and Arugula, Salted Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches and the Raw Zucchini Salad. I can't wait to get lots of use out of this cookbook. I love everything about it from the recipes to the authors stories about her restaurant and Malibu. This book is like holding a little piece of paradise. I can't wait to go back to Malibu, but until then, this cookbook helps me recreate the cool beach vibe that this little town offers. I highly recommend adding this cookbook to your collection. I received a copy of this cookbook for free in exchange for my honest review. Get your copy here: http://amzn.to/23iS3E2

I was so excited to receive a copy of Eating in the Middle by Andie Mitchell. I love the idea of eating mostly healthy food but being able to cheat too. Andie's new cookbook helps you do just that. From the roasted carrots with honey butter, spice rubbed steak with grilled peaches & blue cheese and the Lime Coconut Cream puffs, everything looks tasty and decadent. Every recipes looks like fun to try and everything looks delicious. The photographs are beautiful and there are tons of recipes included in this book. Most seem rather uncomplicated and the ingredients should all be readily available.  I can't wait to try some of the recipes out! I highly recommend adding this book to your collection. There is a unique mix of recipes that you actually want to cook. I received a free copy of this cookbook from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review.

I was excited to get my hands on a copy of Home Cooked by Anya Fernald as I have heard such good things about her new cookbook. It is a beautiful book, thick pages and very substantial with tons of color photographs throughout the book. There are many many recipes. Some are basic and some are quite complex. There are recipes to make your own buttermilk which I think I might actually try since it is so hard to find good buttermilk without chemicals and growth hormones. The other recipes are a little less intriguing to me. When flipping through this book I found maybe a handful of recipes that I would actually make. The rest are recipes that include hard to find ingredients like rabbit, squid, or quail. There was also a few recipes on making your own sausage. This isn't something I see myself trying to attempt any time soon. Even the desserts didn't seem like ones that I would make. Before deciding to purchase this book, I highly recommend paging through it to see if the recipes fit your taste. Unfortunately they didn't fit mine except for a few. Overall this is a nice cookbook, one that is beautiful to look at but not as nice to cook from. I received a free copy of this book from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review. I received a copy of the Fast Metabolism Food RX book and was excited to see what kinds of different recipes the book had. Unfortunately there were not many recipes. There was a lot of information on which foods you should eat for certain conditions like IBS, indigestions, high cholesterol and diabetes. There was tons of information on each condition and the book covered a broad range of subjects and dietary concerns. Perhaps it would be better to have the other books written buy this offer as well. I found the book to be interesting but it didn't tell me much that I didn't already know. I was specifically looking for powerful recipes and lists of foods that wold be good to eat. There are lists of foods but maybe 10-20 choices. Not a comprehensive list. So overall I would say if you struggle with any of the conditions that this book addresses, it would be a worthwhile read. If you are looking for lots of healthy recipes to deal with those conditions, I would skip it. I received a copt of this book from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review. 4 x 4 Diet Review

I was excited to receive a copy of the 4 x 4 diet.  I am always on the lookout for healthy recipe ideas. This book was more of a diet book instead of a cookbook. It gave lots of tips on how to lose weight and there wasn't as many recipes or food suggestions as I had hoped for. The information contained in this book was informative although there was a lot of information that I already knew. Overall, if you are starting out losing weight this is a great reference for exercise and eating that will benefit you. If you are looking for more than that, this might not be the right pick for you. I received a copy of this book for free from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review.

was excited to get the Little Felted Dog book as I have two girls who loves doing crafts and they love dogs. There are ton's of different breeds in this book to choice from. The directions are spelled out clearly along with the supplies that you would need to make each project. I loved that there were pictures of all of the finished dogs and this looks like a book that would get a lot of use in my house. Overall I ws impressed and think this will be a great addition to our crafting books library. I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review from Blogging for Books. I was very excited to review the I Quit Sugar Cookbook. I love eating healthy and finding new ways to do so for myself and my kids is something I enjoy. This cookbook is beautiful with colorful photographs and thick pages. Many of the recipes are savory, with a few sweet ones as well. There are tons of great recipes to choose from including, Bacon ’N’ Egg Quinoa Oatmeal, Gift-Wrapped Miso Cod, Caramelized Leek, Apple, and Rosemary Socca, Green Spaghetti and Meatballs, Broc Bites and Cauli Popcorn, Chocolate Peanut Butter Crackles and Strawberry Cheesecake Mug Cake. Sometimes while paging through a cookbook, there are only a handful of recipes that look like something you would actually make.. All of the recipes in this cookbook appealed to me and I can't wait to get started. I highly recommend this cookbook. It is chock full of great recipes, some are different but not so different that your husband and kids won't want to eat them. It makes a great addition to my cookbook library.  I received a copy of this cookbook for free from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review. I received a copy of The Whole Coconut Cookbook for free in exchange for my honest review from Blogging for Books. I was excited to receive this cookbook as I love coconut. I was disappointed in it's size, it is very small and the limited number of recipes that it had. Pictures in this book were lacking. There is not a picture of each completed recipe to look at. I enjoy seeing what I am making before I make it.  The book is broken into six sections. Breakfast Dishes, Main Courses, Salads and Sides, Snacks, Drinks and Desserts. The recipes use hard to find and very expensive ingredients. Many of the recipes, like Millet, Kale and Miso-Tempeh Saute are not even ones that I would like to try. Overall there might be a few recipes that are worth trying in this cookbook, but I was disappointed that there wasn't more. If you love coconut and are looking for unusual ways to use it than this is the book for you. Get yours here: http://amzn.to/1QmxYIS

I was looking forward to receiving the Doodletopia: Cartoons book. It was a lot bigger than I thought it would be and has a lot of great cartoons for you to complete in it. It seems like a very valuable resource in learning how to draw cartoons and is chock full of very helpful information. I highly recommend this for yourself or a gift if you or someone  you know likes to draw and wants to further there ability. The American Heart Association Healthy Fat's Cookbook is a great resource for heart healthy recipes. The book isn't large but it is packed with great recipes. There are no pictures throughout so if you like to see what you will be making this is not the cookbook for you. There are however tons of quality recipes including the Grilled Vegetable Quesadillas and the Cherry Pear Turnovers which look delicious. I can't wait to try many of these recipes. The book also is a very valuable resource for how many grams of fat and sugar one should have to have a healthy heart diet. A great cookbook for preventing heart disease. I highly recommend it for the delicious recipes it includes. I received a copy of this book for free from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review. Get your copy here:

I received this cookbook and was very excited to look through it. When I first received it I was surprised at how small it was and how few recipes there were. When I opened it up I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the recipes and I love how it tells you specifically what the benefits health wise are for each recipe as well. There are some smoothie recipes, main dishes, salads, sides and desserts. All look like something I would try and that my kids might even like. The green smoothie recipe is one that I did try it turned out great and tasted wonderful. It was something I would definitely make again. Overall this book was good but I still do wish there were more recipes in it. The knowledge it provides about different foods and how they help your body is very informative and the recipes were easy and delicious to make.
